Cristian and Gianni LaCapra are honored to chair this year’s Tropical Nights, the signature fundraising event for the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD). As dedicated parents and advocates for the autism community, their personal journey with CARD began in 2018 when their son, Nico, was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This life-changing diagnosis brought them into close contact with CARD's exceptional team, who provided invaluable guidance and support, helping Nico thrive academically and socially.
Gianni, a Miami native and the former Director of Sales & Marketing at her family business, Decorative Sales Associates, has a deep commitment to community service. She has served on the board of Girls Inc. of Greater Miami and actively participates in the Cushman Parents Association as the Vice President. Gianni’s passion for empowering women and supporting the autism community is reflected in her ongoing work with CARD as a Board Member, where she advocates for improved resources and support for individuals with autism.
Cristian, a Senior Wealth Strategist at Northern Trust, utilizes his extensive experience to assist families in navigating complex financial situations and securing their futures. He contributes to various community organizations, including the United Way of Miami-Dade, the Orange Bowl Committee, The Cushman School Board of Trustees, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami Board of Directors. His commitment to giving back is a testament to his dedication to making a positive impact in the community.
Together, Cristian and Gianni are not only parents deeply involved in their son’s journey but also proactive community leaders. Their role as co-chairs of Tropical Nights underscores their gratitude for CARD's support and their dedication to raising awareness and funds to help other families. They are passionate about sharing their experience and advocating for enhanced support for the autism community, reflecting their belief in creating inclusive and supportive environments for all.
